2026 NWAL Rules will apply with the following clarifications: 

1. There is no limit to the number of individual events in which a swimmer may enter. 

2. Teams may enter up to four (4) relay teams in each relay event, but only two (2) relays per team are eligible to score points for the team score. All are eligible for awards. 

3. The 11 and over session: a. Individuals events will be swimming as 11-18 mix age and mixed gender, but scored and awarded by gender and age group. b. Relays will be mixed gender by age group (11-12, 13-14, 15-18). Each relay will consist of 2 boys and 2 girls any order. 

4. There will be two (2) mixed age medley relays, one for male swimmers and one for female swimmers. a. Mixed Age Medley Relay will consist of the following sequence of events: 50 yd Backstroke (13-14 year old’s), 50 yd Breaststroke (15-18 year old’s), 25 yd Butterfly (8 & under’s), 25 yd Butterfly (9-10 year old’s from in water start), and 50 yd Freestyle (11-12 year old’s). This relay will be the last event in the morning session. 

5. All swimmers must meet the age and qualifying time requirements. Anyone protesting an entry time has the burden of proof for proving that the time is false. 

The decisions of the Meet Referee are final and no other appeals will be considered by NWAL.
