About the Kings River Kingfish
Our mission
The Kings River Kingfish exist to foster competitive swimming and good sportsmanship in the youth of the Kings River community. We believe that summer swim team is one of the best ways for kids to build confidence, make lifelong friends, and stay active, all while being part of something bigger than themselves.
Who we are
The Kingfish are a competitive summer league swim team for swimmers ages 4 through 18 who live within the membership area defined by NWAL. We are part of the Northwest Aquatic League, a network of neighborhood swim teams from across the Houston metro area, and we compete in the White W3 Division alongside four other area teams.
Our season runs from late April through June, with regular practice beginning in late April, dual meets held on Saturdays during May and June, and the NWAL divisional meet at the end of the season.
Our coaches
Every member of our coaching staff is a former competitive swimmer with prior coaching experience. Our coaches work to teach swimmers the fundamentals of competitive swimming, stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategy, while also building the confidence and team spirit that make summer swim memorable. You can meet our coaches on the Meet Our Coaches page.
How we're organized
The Kings River Kingfish is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization run entirely by volunteer parents. Our elected Board of Directors meets monthly throughout the year to plan the season, manage the budget, and keep the team running. You can see our current board on the Board Members page, and we are always looking for new parents who want to help out.
