Howdy y'all, My name is Garret Gowen, I am currently a freshman at Texas A&M, majoring in Kinesiology and a minor in psychology. I am hoping to eventually become a PT or a PA. I graduated from Kingwood High School in 2021, where I had swam and dove varsity for 2 years and 2 years of JV. I grew up swimming on the Kingfish for 12 years and I have two younger siblings who still swim on the Kingfish. I am the oldest of three kids; my brother Robert is a sophomore at KHS and my sister Gabriella is a 8th grader at CMS. In my free time I enjoy finding new music and doing things with my friends outdoors. I am so excited for this year's swim team, I can't wait to bring the energy for this great season.
Hi, my name is Logan Rushing, I am 19 years old and I swam for 15 of those years until I had to retire in 2021 for medical reasons. Since I was eight, swimming was the only sport that I had a real talent for, besides ultimate frisbee, if that even counts. I started out swimming for the Summerwood Stingrays because my mom and dad wanted me and my brother to know how to swim. My favorite parts of my swimming career consisted of going to state all four years for Kingwood Park High School and bringing home a team title in 2020, three relay titles, and after that, committing to the University of Tampa. Since I am retired now, I have started to focus more on getting a degree in Sport Management and getting a job at an agency representing athletes, hopefully I can sign a few swimmers. Swimming did not give me the luxury of having too many hobbies but now I have picked up powerlifting, because of my brother Ethan, ultimate frisbee, and binge watching every single show that Netflix has to offer. My goals for the season are to help all my swimmers improve in and outside the pool. But more importantly it is to make the experience enjoyable and fun, oftentimes during my career, swimming became more of a job than a sport. So while I want my swimmers to improve I want them to enjoy doing it.
Hey Kingfish Family! I am so excited to be coaching for the 2022 season. Swimming has been a huge part of my life and that journey started with the Kingfish when I was five years old. I fell in love with the sport and have been pursuing it ever since. I swam on the Kingwood High School Varsity Swim Team during my Junior and Senior years, and I can’t wait to be a part of the Kingfish coaching staff. I will be graduating from Kingwood High School this May and plan to continue my education studying pre-med at the University of Utah. I am really looking forward to this summer league season! Go Kingfish😊
Hello Kings River family, my name is Colin Weatherford and I have the honor of being an assistant coach this summer! To be able to encourage kids to reach for the stars and have fun at the same time is something truly special and something I take pride in. When I was in my younger teens, I swam for KRK and was able to be a part of a record-breaking relay team and achieved a few personal records. Since then, I discharged from the Army in January of 2019 and found a strong passion for child education through the local YMCA. Currently I am a supervisor at Kids in Action in Kingwood as well as taking courses at American Military University online. In June I will achieve my AA in History and plan on pursuing a BA of Arts in History with a Minor in Business Administration. My goals for this summer are simple however effective in ensuring the kids are learning new fundamentals and tools to excel them to the next level in swimming and more importantly creating a fun and safe environment for the kids to be able to have fun and be themselves. My email is listed below, and I encourage you all to reach out if there is anything I can help you with this summer! Again, what an honor it is to be able to coach for my old swim team and use my knowledge to teach kids how to be more efficient in the pool. Let’s make this summer one to remember and don’t forget GO KINGFISH!
My name is Carson Chesnut. I will be graduating from Incarnate Word Academy this May, and will be attending Texas A&M University next year. I love keeping myself busy by volunteering, participating in different organizations, and through athletics; especially, cheerleading, running, and swimming. Swimming has always been a part of my life. I started swimming when I was two years old, was on the Kings River Kingfish for 10+ years, and swam all four years in high school on my school's varsity team. I placed at state every year and now hold numerous records in my school’s swimming program. I have coached young kids before through many volunteer programs and I am beyond excited for this upcoming season. I cannot wait to meet all the kids and watch them progress this summer.

I love learning new things and will use that to help my Kingfish. I myself, was a Kingfish for 10 years.
